The Missions Team at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church is dedicated to providing Christian outreach opportunities for members of our congregation. Our outreach generally focuses on providing food and support to those in our community who need a “hand up”.
Freedom House Feeding Program
The team organizes the planning, preparing and serving of a hot, nutritious meal to the residents (veterans) at the Family Liberation facility on Hull Street Road. We are responsible for the evening meal on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. We have been doing this for over 20 years.
Battlefield Park Elementary School
Each August we provide the school with five filled book bags. We work closely with the Guidance Counselor on an emergency basis to provide extra school supplies, snacks for the younger children, and helping to defray the individual costs for extra activities such as the school play and field trips.
Missionary Support
Every year, Bethlehem supports various missionaries and PC(USA) programs, both locally and around the globe. This year we are providing financial support to AFRIEM, an African immigrant congregation and its pastor in Hanover County; Cindy Corell, a missionary to Haiti, and others in Ethiopia.
