“And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.” (I Corinthians 13.13)
Marriage is a gift God has given to all humankind for the well-being of the entire human family. For Christians, marriage is a covenant through which a man and a woman are called to live out together before God their lives in discipleship. In a service of Christian marriage a lifelong commitment is made by a woman and a man to each other, publicly witnessed and acknowledged by the community of faith. (Book of Order, W-4.9001)
Ordinarily, only active members of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church may be married in the church. It is a fellowship of believers who have discovered the truth of God’s love and have committed themselves to growing in Christ and working together to express Christ’s love in the world. On occasion, however, extended family members and/or community friends may be married at Bethlehem with Session approval.
At Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, it would be our joy and privilege to celebrate your wedding day, as you together, bride and groom, begin this part of your faith journey into holy matrimony.
